When dealing with herbal products it is not uncommon for supplements to vary in colour, taste or smell from one batch to another. It is an age old occurrence within herbals and can be attributed to a number of factors. Time of year and location of the crop harvest can have a big impact on both the colour and the smell of the product. The amount of drying time or other processing factors can also result in variations of smell, taste and appearance.

An example of this can sometimes be seen in our Vitamin C food form. The parsley leaf used can vary quite a bit from light olive to dark green. The lighter green shade allow the pink colours of the Rosehip , Elderberry and Blackcurrant to come through. Darker shades mean that they overpower the pink and give the capsule a completely different look. Saw Palmetto is another good example where the herb can have quite a contrast from one harvest to another.

The change in appearance, taste or smell of a product can be quite disconcerting for a consumer but it does not mean that there is anything wrong with the product or that it is any less effective. We take the quality of our products very seriously and ensure that any materials we use are from trusted suppliers adhering to first class quality standards.
