Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin and is easily removed from the system via urine. Regardless of dosage, biotin is generally nontoxic and does not have known side effects. There is no maximum stated dose for biotin. In studies toxicity has not been reported in patients treated with daily doses up to 200 mg orally. As such taking a dose of 10,000mcg (10mg) per day should be considered a high dose but is is safe to do so.
